Each morning, I'm here with new blog content for my loyal readers, but it's TypePad's blogging platform that is here for me.
I rely on TypePad for its simplicity and reliability. I know but one other blogging company that does as much for its members.
And that's why I'm honored (and humbled) that TypePad hand-picked The Mortgage Reports as a featured weblog on its Web site today.
If you're a first-time visitor here, best thing to do is get the daily news by email. And if you use Twitter, feel free to grab the mid-day updates, too.

Posting may be light this week.
Greg and I will be in Dublin taking home loan applications for a condo project in Chicago. Better to gather the information face-to-face than to risk getting it wrong and putting an egg on the collective face of the developer, the real estate broker, and Mobium.
In the meanwhile, enjoy a few reruns from the past few months:
Regardless, I am sure I'll post this week from Ireland anyway. I can't quit you, after all.

Metro Chicago Real Estate recently awarded me a 2006 Lending Champion award. 40 loan officers were named from among the many tens of thousands of loan officers in the Chicagoland Region.
The criteria for the award -- as editor Dan Rafter noted -- were more than "hard work and market savvy". Lending Champions have "a willingness to learn what it takes to become a complete financial advisor and, most of all, an ability to transform one-time clients into customers for life".
If you look at the most successful people in every industry, my hunch is that you would see a skill set similar to what Dan describes in each of them. "Customers for life" is about trust and trust is a quality that you earn. It isthe cornerstone of every successful relationship that lasts a lifetime.
Not only is a thrill to be recognized for my accomplishments, it's also humbling to see myself next to accomplished loan officers such as
Michelle Bobart (my boss at
Mobium),
Jim Nuesslein and Barry Schwartz.

My wife has asked me to remind the readers of The Mortgage Reports:
I write blogs and I also write mortgages.
You know all about me by now:
- I am as knowledgeable about mortgages as anyone else in my industry
- I am as comfortable with purchases and remortgages
- I specialize in residential home loans
- I manage my clients' mortgages for the long-term -- our relationship only starts at closing.
If you're in want of some help with a home loan, email me your situation and we'll take it from there.
P.S. I was expressly forbidden to use my wife's photo on the blog, so enjoy this Yahoo! avatar that looks a lot like her.
